ABOUT MR. PATTERSON
This is my ninth year teaching, My first seven years were at Dominion Middle School in Columbus City Schools. This is my second year at New Albany High School. I love challenging problems, and I am passionate about making math meaningful to my students.
I have also taught engineering and outside the classroom, I coached basketball, softball, and robotics. I am a Desmos Fellow, a Teacher Leadership Institute fellow, assessor, and facilitator, a TEDEd contributor, and a member of the Ohio Department of Education's Grade 8 and High School Functions teams. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Mathematics/Early Adolescence.
Students in my classroom can expect to face challenging problems. Students can also expect to find an open and caring environment where their struggles are supported and their questions encouraged.
I am married to my wife, Torie, of eight years. Torie is a kindergarten teacher. She is also the mother of our two boys: Coen and Crew. Coen enjoys puzzles, riding his bike, and popsicles. Crew enjoys smiling, bath time, and pondering the meaning of life. We live in Hebron with our dog, Brewski.
